Life360 adds scannable pet tags and new care tools to its tracking ecosystem

Life360 is broadening its pet-focused services with a new lineup of scannable pet tags priced at $7.99, alongside fresh care features designed to make everyday pet management simpler for families.

The company first stepped into pet tech last year with GPS trackers, building on the location network it strengthened after acquiring Tile in 2021. Since then, Life360 says families have added more than 8 million pets to their accounts, showing strong demand for connected pet safety tools.

The new tags are aimed at owners who prefer a lighter, more practical option than a bulky tracker. When someone scans the QR code on the tag, the family is notified through the Life360 app, even if the finder does not have the app installed. The scan can also surface location details, including the pet's last known position.

Users can keep contact information current through the pet profile in the app, while new care logs help families track feeding, walks, medication, and litter care in one shared view.

Life360 is also introducing Zoomies Alerts for GPS tracker users, which highlight bursts of activity during the day, plus a Weekly Roundup that summarizes movement and family care activity. The company has also expanded access to its Pet GPS trackers by including them in its $99-per-year Silver bundles, not just higher-tier plans.

With broader access and more intuitive pet tools, Life360 is moving pet care toward a more connected, family-wide experience that could shape the next generation of smart household services.
