A high-refresh OLED display at a lower price

The 27-inch LG UltraGear 27GS93QE is listed at $499.99, down from $899.99--a $400 reduction. The monitor combines 1440p resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate, offering a potential upgrade for PC gamers seeking sharper motion and OLED contrast.

Its individually lit pixels deliver deep blacks, while VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, a 1.5-million-to-one contrast ratio and 98.5% DCI-P3 color coverage support detailed, vibrant images. A 0.03ms response time, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility are designed to keep fast-moving scenes smooth.

Reaching 240Hz at 1440p requires a capable PC; consoles are limited by their 120Hz output. As with OLED displays, prolonged use of static screen elements may raise burn-in concerns. LG provides a two-year limited panel warranty, subject to its terms.

As OLED displays become more accessible, high-refresh gaming screens may increasingly bring vivid contrast and responsive performance to mainstream setups.
