Kobo and StoryGraph Bring Automatic Reading Sync to E-Readers

Kobo and StoryGraph have launched automatic reading sync for ebooks and audiobooks, bringing smarter book tracking and deeper reading insights to eReaders.

Kobo has taken a notable step in digital reading by partnering with StoryGraph, giving users automatic reading progress tracking across its eReaders and apps. The integration is now available for all Kobo account-based content.

With this update, when readers finish a book on a Kobo device, their status is automatically marked as Read in StoryGraph. The feature also supports ebooks and audiobooks, making it easier to keep personal reading stats current without manual updates.

This collaboration is especially significant because Kobo becomes the first eReader brand to connect directly with StoryGraph's community platform. StoryGraph is known for its detailed reading analytics, including pace, moods, charts, and personalized recommendations that help readers better understand their habits.

Founded in 2019 by Nadia Odunayo and CTO Rob Frelow, StoryGraph has grown into a community of more than 5 million readers. Kobo, meanwhile, reaches 12 million users across 190 countries, giving the partnership broad global visibility.

The move reflects a wider shift in reading culture, where digital tools, community features, and smart device integration are reshaping how people discover and follow books. As reading platforms become more connected, the future may bring a more seamless and data-rich experience for book lovers worldwide.
