Instagram is exploring fresh ways to give users more control over what appears in their feed and Reels. According to Adam Mosseri, the platform is testing new entry points for Your Algorithm, a feature designed to help people choose which topics they want to see more or less often.
The update could make personalization feel more integrated into the app experience. In one example, users may be able to access the menu by pulling down in the feed, while another suggests a swipe-up gesture from a Reel could open similar controls. Instagram is also testing buttons under Reels that let people signal whether they want more content like that.
Launched last year, Your Algorithm has gradually expanded beyond a simple setting and is now being positioned as a more visible part of Instagram's interface. Mosseri said some of the ideas are already in testing, others are coming soon, and some may not move forward.
The direction reflects a broader shift toward user-guided discovery, where people can shape their own content flow with greater precision. If adopted widely, this approach could help define a more personalized and intuitive social media experience in the future.
