Google has expanded its hardware lineup with a new item-tracking accessory: the Pixel Tag. Priced at $29, the device was introduced alongside the latest Pixel smartphones and is designed to help users keep track of everyday essentials such as keys, bags, and other valuables.
Built for the Android ecosystem, Pixel Tag works through Find Hub, Google's device-finding network that connects with Android phones around the world. Users can also trigger location and sound alerts from a Pixel Watch, adding another layer of convenience for nearby searches.
In design, Google has taken a different path from Apple's AirTag. The Pixel Tag uses a slimmer, oval shape rather than a round profile. It measures 1.1 inches wide, 1.8 inches tall, and 0.2 inches thick, while weighing 0.4 ounces with its battery installed.
The device supports Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband for more precise finding, and it includes a built-in speaker for close-range location. It does not include NFC. Power comes from a user-replaceable CR2032 coin-cell battery, which is expected to last about a year.
Google says the Pixel Tag carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It will be available on November 11, 2026, in single and four-pack options, priced at $29 and $99 respectively. As connected-device ecosystems grow, tools like Pixel Tag may shape a more seamless future for everyday personal tracking.
