Google Partners with SpaceX for $920 Million Monthly Compute Agreement

SpaceX and Google announce a $920 million monthly computing deal, paving the way for innovative advancements in technology and space exploration ahead of SpaceX's IPO.

In an exciting development ahead of its landmark IPO, SpaceX has secured a significant computing deal with Google. The agreement, disclosed in a recent regulatory filing, will see Google invest $920 million each month from October 2026 until June 2029. This investment grants Google access to approximately 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, memory, and other essential components.

This new partnership mirrors a previous arrangement SpaceX established with Anthropic in late May, where Anthropic committed $1.25 billion monthly for computing resources from one of SpaceX's Colossus data centers in Memphis, Tennessee. This facility was originally developed by xAI, which has since become part of SpaceX, to support its artificial intelligence initiatives.

Similar to the Anthropic contract, the agreement with Google includes a cancellation clause, allowing both parties to terminate the contract with a 90-day notice after December 31, 2026. This flexibility is likely designed to accommodate the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

SpaceX made this announcement just a week ahead of its anticipated stock market debut on Nasdaq, where it aims to achieve a remarkable valuation of around $1.75 trillion, raising approximately $75 billion--potentially the largest IPO in history.

Google has been a long-standing investor in SpaceX, and its stake in the company is projected to exceed $100 billion following the IPO, highlighting the mutual benefits of their collaboration.

This partnership not only underscores the growing synergy between leading tech firms but also sets the stage for future innovations in computing and space technology. As these companies continue to collaborate, we can anticipate exciting advancements that could reshape industries and enhance our technological capabilities.
