Garmin has expanded its premium outdoor lineup with two new smartwatches: the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro. Announced during the company's "Play Harder" livestream, the new models are built for athletes, explorers, and users who want advanced training tools in a durable design.
What stands out
The Fenix 9 starts at $999.99, while the Fenix 9 Pro and Pro Solar begin at $1,099.99. Garmin says the series brings a brighter AMOLED screen reaching up to 3,000 nits, a larger 1.5-inch display option on the 51 mm Pro model, and a titanium case on the Pro version.
Other additions include ComfortFit bands, 64 GB of storage, support for up to 7,000 songs, and improved mapping performance. Garmin also highlights new stamina tools, indoor rowing insights, and expanded rucking features, reflecting the growing interest in hybrid training.
On the connectivity side, the Fenix 9 Pro adds inReach compatibility across all size options, while the Pro Solar model brings solar-charging support. Garmin says the new mapping experience is smoother, and the extra memory should help users store more maps and media for long trips.
The watches are already listed on Garmin's site, with orders opening on Aug. 28. As the lineup arrives, the earlier Fenix 8 has also seen a price drop, creating a more accessible option for buyers who do not need the newest hardware.
With stronger displays, smarter training tools, and broader outdoor connectivity, Garmin's latest launch points to a future where adventure wearables become even more capable companions.
