Garmin Introduces Cirqa, Its First Screenless Smart Band

Garmin's Cirqa Smart Band debuts as a screenless wearable with health tracking, a side button, and no subscription at launch for connected fitness users.

Garmin Introduces Cirqa, Its First Screenless Smart Band

Garmin has expanded its wearable lineup with the Cirqa Smart Band, a screenless fitness tracker priced at $199.99. Designed for users who want continuous health tracking without the distraction of a display, the device marks a new direction for the brand's ecosystem.

A minimalist approach to health tracking

The Cirqa focuses on around-the-clock monitoring through the Garmin Connect app, recording heart rate, stress, Body Battery, Pulse Ox, and skin temperature. It also recognizes workouts automatically and can improve its activity classification as users confirm or adjust entries in the app.

Visually, the band arrives in four color options: Black, Captain blue, French Gray, and Mauve. Garmin also offers two strap sizes, along with a Velcro-style fit system and quick-release pin connectors. The design is lightweight, with a longer sensor module that gives it a distinct profile among screenless wearables.

Built for Garmin's ecosystem

One of the Cirqa's most notable points is its no-subscription launch model. Garmin says current features will remain accessible, while any future paid tier would add new capabilities rather than lock existing ones behind a paywall.

The band uses Garmin's Elevate Gen 4 optical sensor, but adds skin temperature tracking on top of that foundation. That makes it especially relevant for wellness insights and broader health monitoring inside the Garmin platform.

Physical controls add a practical touch

Unlike many screenless trackers, the Cirqa includes a side button. A single press can start or stop a favorite activity, while other press patterns handle functions such as alarm snooze, pairing, heart-rate broadcasting, and locating the band. This small detail gives the device a more immediate, hands-on feel.

At $199.99, the Cirqa sits in the premium segment of the market, especially when compared with lower-priced alternatives. Still, Garmin is clearly aiming at users already invested in its training and recovery tools, where one connected system can be more valuable than a standalone device.

As screen-free wearables continue to evolve, the Cirqa suggests a future where health tracking becomes more seamless, more focused, and more deeply integrated into everyday life.
