Frieze Abu Dhabi has revealed the 84 galleries set to take part in its debut edition, running from November 19 to 22 at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Cultural District.
The fair will gather exhibitors from 63 cities across 36 countries, with a strong regional presence: 36 galleries come from the SWANA region. Among them are Carbon 12, The Third Line, Dastan, Gypsum, Loft Art Gallery and Sfeir-Semler Gallery.
International names including Gagosian, Pace Gallery, Thaddaeus Ropac, Victoria Miro, Galleria Continua and Perrotin will also join the event, underscoring Abu Dhabi's growing role in the global art calendar.
Beyond the main galleries section, the fair will feature Focus, a platform for solo and dual presentations by emerging artists, with bursaries helping offset participation costs. Artists in this section include Dala Nasser, Tahir Karmali and Jawad Al Malhi.
A new curated section, Global Futures, will be led by independent curator and writer Tarini Malik and spotlight artists whose work connects with histories and ideas resonating across the UAE and the wider region. Featured names include Abdullah Al Saadi, Ala Younis and Seta Manoukian.
The Frieze Masters Abu Dhabi section, curated by Marika Sardar, will present works and objects spanning antiquity to the 20th century, with a focus on the Indian Ocean as a space of trade, movement and cultural exchange.
Frieze Abu Dhabi, developed with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, succeeds the city's long-running Abu Dhabi Art fair. With its mix of regional depth and international reach, the inaugural edition is positioned to strengthen artistic exchange and broaden the region's cultural visibility in the years ahead.
