Flutterwave Reaches $3.2 Billion Valuation with Ripple Backing

Flutterwave has reached a $3.2 billion valuation in a new Series E round with Ripple's backing, boosting its cross-border payment expansion across Africa.

African payments infrastructure company Flutterwave has announced a new Series E round that values the business at $3.2 billion. The round includes an equity investment from blockchain payments company Ripple, strengthening a partnership focused on expanding digital finance across Africa.

Flutterwave did not disclose the size of the latest round, but said its total funding has now surpassed $500 million. The company continues to build tools that simplify cross-border payments, a space where speed, reliability, and access remain essential for businesses operating across multiple markets.

One of Flutterwave's key priorities is API unification, designed to help different payment systems work together more smoothly across the continent. Earlier this year, the company also acquired Mono, adding banking API capabilities to its platform. In 2025, it introduced stablecoin payment solutions with Polygon Labs to support faster and more efficient business transactions.

Flutterwave currently operates in 35 countries, and Ripple's involvement is expected to support the company's digital asset expansion while also deepening Ripple's footprint in Africa. The move reflects growing interest in financial infrastructure that connects markets through more flexible and scalable technology.

As digital payments evolve, partnerships like this could help shape a more connected financial future for African commerce.
