A new home for shared history
Morocco has opened a publicly funded museum in Fes dedicated to more than 2,500 years of Jewish history in the country. The institution is the first of its kind in an Arab-Muslim nation, creating a new space for visitors to explore a longstanding part of Morocco's cultural heritage.
Art across generations
Elsewhere, London's Halcyon Gallery is presenting Johnny Depp's artwork in his first major exhibition in the United Kingdom. The gallery is also representing Depp, whose show runs through November 15.
In Paris, artist Prune Nourry's forthcoming exhibition at the Petit Palais will bring attention to women sculptors whose work has been overlooked in art history. Nourry has created 18 portrait busts inspired by artists who faced barriers to formal art education.
By connecting historical heritage with contemporary creative work, these cultural initiatives can broaden whose stories are preserved and encountered by future generations.
