Facebook adds a dedicated Seller app for Marketplace users, launches free Facebook Verified identity checks, and tests a new full-screen video interface.

Facebook Unveils Seller App and Free Verification for Marketplace Users

Facebook is introducing a set of updates designed to make its platform more streamlined and useful for active users. The most notable addition is Seller, a dedicated app for Marketplace sellers that brings listing management, buyer messaging, and performance tracking into one place.

The company says Marketplace remains a major activity hub, with hundreds of millions of monthly listings and a large global user base. By separating seller tools into a standalone experience, Facebook aims to simplify commerce for frequent users and support more efficient selling workflows.

Another key feature is Facebook Verified, a free identity check that uses a selfie-based process to confirm a person is real. Once approved, the verification mark appears across Facebook Dating, Marketplace, and Groups, helping create a clearer and more trusted user environment.

Facebook is also testing a full-screen video interface that opens the app in a more immersive format. The option will first appear in video-focused international markets, with a broader rollout planned later. Users will still be able to switch back to the classic feed view.

Alongside these interface changes, Meta is continuing to expand its app ecosystem with new products for different user groups. The company also plans to bring AI-powered tools into the Seller app, including help with writing item descriptions and searching groups more efficiently. The update points to a future where social platforms become more specialized, more intuitive, and more commerce-ready.
