Eufy FamiLock S3 Max: A Smart Lock with Local Storage Now Over $100 Off

The Eufy FamiLock S3 Max is an innovative device that combines a deadbolt, a 2K video doorbell, and an indoor monitor all in one. Currently, it's priced at $279.98 on Amazon, a significant drop from its original price of $399.99, marking its lowest price to date according to price tracking tools.

This smart lock not only enhances your home security but also simplifies your gadget collection. By integrating three functionalities into one device, it reduces the number of separate gadgets you need to manage. The exterior panel boasts an IP65 rating, housing a 2K HDR camera with a wide 180-degree field of view, ensuring that packages are less likely to be missed in the frame. At night, the infrared feature activates automatically, providing clear visibility.

The keypad illuminates upon touch, facilitating easy access, while the palm vein scanner offers a practical alternative to traditional fingerprint readers, which can be unreliable in adverse weather conditions. For those who prefer conventional access methods, the lock still supports a physical key, passcode entry, a mobile app, or voice commands via Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, or Google Assistant.

Additionally, the interior unit features a four-inch 1080p screen that displays a live feed of visitors, effectively replacing a traditional peephole. This is particularly beneficial for homes without an existing peephole or for users who prefer not to use their phones for every doorbell ring. Powering the device is a 15,000mAh rechargeable battery, which can last up to five months, complemented by four AA batteries as a backup. It is designed to fit standard doors and installs like a typical smart lock, though it is larger than most.

The Eufy FamiLock S3 Max supports Matter, a cross-platform smart home standard, ensuring compatibility across various ecosystems. However, it does not support IFTTT, which may limit certain automations. Video footage is stored locally on 15.5GB of built-in memory, eliminating the need for a monthly subscription, and can be expanded to 16TB using Eufy's HomeBase 3, sold separately.
