Ernie Hudson exemplifies the art of aging gracefully. The renowned actor, who continues to engage audiences in film and television at the age of 80, has surprised many with his youthful appearance. Recently, he made a striking impression on the red carpet, looking remarkably similar to his days in the classic film Ghostbusters from 1984.
So, what's his secret? Hudson emphasizes the importance of smart and focused longevity. He has dedicated years to understanding his body and adapting his fitness approach to meet its needs, rather than following fleeting trends. "It's crucial to listen to your body; it will guide you to what it requires," he shared.
As he enters his ninth decade, Hudson remains aware of the heightened health risks that come with aging, particularly in the African American community. "Weight management becomes increasingly important as you age," he noted, expressing his desire to maintain flexibility and mobility to avoid falls.
To stay fit, Hudson trains with a personal trainer two to three times a week in Los Angeles. While on location for projects such as Boston Blue and The Family Business, he also works out with his son, Ernest, who has joined him in their fitness journey.
Hudson's commitment to fitness includes a variety of exercises tailored to strengthen his upper body, ensuring he remains active and agile.
