The National Magazine Awards have honored Eater by naming it a finalist in the General Excellence, Service, and Lifestyle category. This recognition comes as part of the annual awards presented by the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME), with the finalists announced recently.

Eater is in esteemed company, competing for the award alongside notable publications such as Allure, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Vogue, and Wirecutter. This marks Eater's fourth consecutive year being nominated in this category, making it the only repeat nominee from the previous two years.

In addition to this nomination, Eater has received recognition in various other ASME categories in prior years. Notably, it was acknowledged for Lifestyle Journalism and Best Service and Lifestyle Design in 2025 for its insightful piece titled "Welcome to the Chainification of America," and for Best Digital Design in 2024 for "Mall Food Madness," which celebrated the vibrant culture of dining in malls.

Eater has a history of success at the National Magazine Awards, having won accolades in 2016 for its "Eater Guide to Surviving Disney World," in 2017 for the "Eater Guide to Paris," and in 2022 for "Filling Up," which explored the diverse food experiences at gas stations across the United States.

The winners of the 2026 National Magazine Awards will be announced on May 19, adding to the anticipation surrounding this prestigious event.
