This spring, Powerhouse Arts will launch the inaugural CONDUCTOR: Art Fair of the Global Majority, marking a significant addition to the international art scene. This groundbreaking event is set to take place in Brooklyn from April 30 to May 3, 2026, with an exclusive VIP opening on April 29. The fair aims to showcase a diverse array of artists and galleries hailing from regions such as Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, and Indigenous Nations.
With 27 gallery exhibitors and 17 special projects, CONDUCTOR provides a vital platform for artists whose creations are redefining contemporary art. Under the guidance of Fair Director Adriana Farietta, in partnership with Powerhouse Arts President Eric Shiner, this event embodies a collective aspiration to enhance access, representation, and cultural exchange in the global art landscape.
"Through CONDUCTOR, we aim to celebrate the rich pluralism emerging from some of the world's most dynamic regions," states Farietta. "The art scene flourishes when it embraces a new wave of creative talent from around the globe."
Attendees can expect a vibrant collection of paintings, sculptures, installations, and interdisciplinary works from prominent galleries, including Galería Extra (Guatemala City), Bockley Gallery (Minneapolis), Brihatta Art Foundation (Dhaka), Mazzucchelli/Cardoso (São Paulo), Gladwell Projects (New York), and WhereArt.Works (Saudi Arabia), among others.
The Special Projects segment will feature ambitious installations and mixed-media artworks that encourage a deeper exploration of global histories, identities, and cultural narratives. In addition to the exhibitions, the fair will host a robust Conversation Series, facilitating discussions among artists, curators, and cultural leaders about contemporary art's role in an evolving global context.
Set within the expansive Grand Hall and Loft of Powerhouse Arts, CONDUCTOR invites collectors, curators, artists, and art enthusiasts to discover both emerging talents and established practitioners in a dynamic environment. This landmark event promises to be a transformative experience, connecting audiences with the next generation of global contemporary art.
