The company's demo shows ChatGPT suggesting follow-up texts based on recent conversations, while users can also ask it to search message history, prepare responses, or manage selected messages more efficiently.
OpenAI says the plugin runs locally on the user's device and does not build a full index of all messages. Even so, the company advises users to monitor actions carefully and avoid persistent approval settings, since those can reduce the final review step before a message is sent.
