Calendly Enters the AI Meeting Notes Race

Calendly is expanding beyond scheduling with an AI note-taker and assistant, aiming to automate meeting summaries, follow-ups, and workflow tasks.

Calendly Enters the AI Meeting Notes Race

Calendly, best known for scheduling and meeting coordination, is expanding into AI note-taking with a new product designed to capture, transcribe, and organize conversations automatically.

The tool can join meetings, record audio and video, generate transcripts, and produce concise summaries, action items, and draft follow-up emails. The company is also testing a feature that uses system audio to transcribe meetings in a more seamless way.

Alongside the note-taker, Calendly is developing an AI assistant called Callie. Built on the company's scheduling infrastructure, it is designed to arrange meetings, check availability, and surface relevant context from earlier conversations.

Calendly CEO Tope Awotona says the goal is to help professionals in high-meeting roles, especially in sales and marketing, automate the work that follows a conversation rather than stopping at transcription alone.

That vision places Calendly in a fast-moving market where productivity platforms are increasingly blending scheduling, documentation, and AI assistance. The company's approach also includes clear recording notifications in chat and before meetings begin, giving users visibility into when the assistant is active.

As AI tools continue to connect meetings with action, scheduling, and workflow automation, this kind of integration could help define the next generation of workplace productivity.
