Detroit-based startup Bloom has raised $3.6 million in seed funding to expand its AI-driven marketplace connecting hardware companies with manufacturing, engineering and supply-chain partners across the United States.
Founded in 2023 by CEO Justin Kosmides, Bloom initially focused on solving operational challenges for mobility businesses. The company has since evolved into a digital platform designed to help companies discover qualified suppliers, request quotes, manage bookings and coordinate payments in one place.
A smarter route to supplier discovery
Bloom's platform supports businesses seeking services ranging from contract manufacturing and assembly to design, freight, warehousing, repairs and specialized shipping. Its AI tools aim to match companies with providers based on detailed operational requirements, making complex sourcing projects more accessible for startups and established hardware brands alike.
The company says it has completed more than 2,000 matches for over 140 companies. Customers include businesses operating in mobility, robotics, drones and other hardware-focused fields, where finding the right production partner can require evaluating multiple technical, logistical and regulatory needs.
Bloom builds its supplier network using a mix of publicly available business information, company-submitted data and insights generated through activity on its platform. According to the company, this growing dataset helps improve the precision of its recommendations over time.
Backing for marketplace growth
The round was led by SNAK Venture Partners, with participation from Flyover Capital, Mana Ventures, Detroit Venture Partners, Invest Detroit Ventures and the Michigan Outdoor Innovation Fund.
Bloom plans to use the investment to scale its marketplace and deepen its software capabilities. The platform is also intended to give smaller manufacturers greater visibility, enabling them to compete for projects that may previously have been difficult to access without large sales teams or marketing budgets.
As AI becomes more embedded in industrial operations, platforms like Bloom could help create a more connected, responsive and discoverable manufacturing ecosystem for the next generation of American hardware innovation.
