Estonia-based web security company Blackwall has raised $100 million in a Series C round, bringing its valuation to $2.2 billion. The funding was led by AVP, with existing investors Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures and Tera Ventures also participating.
Blackwall provides web-hosting, cloud and managed-service providers with customizable tools to help them manage the traffic reaching their customers' websites. Partners can offer the services under their own brands and select components to suit their needs, while sharing revenue with Blackwall.
The platform combines traffic routing, certificate management and DDoS protection with tools that assess incoming requests. Digital fingerprinting and AI models help distinguish genuine visitors and authorized AI agents from unwanted automated activity.
Preparing for an agent-driven web
As AI agents increasingly interact with websites on behalf of people, Blackwall sees growing demand for systems that can determine which agents may access services and under what conditions. Its approach gives hosting providers a way to manage those services while maintaining their customer relationships.
Blackwall plans to use the new capital to expand across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, and to develop additional security tools for hosting, cloud and managed-service providers. As online activity evolves, adaptable traffic controls could help shape safer, more organized interactions between people, websites and AI agents.
