Bending Spoons to Acquire Airtable in $1.28 Billion Deal

Bending Spoons has agreed to acquire Airtable for $1.28 billion in cash, marking the company's first major purchase since its public debut last month. The deal places the software platform's value at about $2.25 billion when its current net cash position is included.

Founded in 2013, Airtable has raised more than $1.4 billion across several funding rounds. The company reached a peak valuation of over $11 billion in 2021, and it later introduced a lower private-market valuation before this new agreement.

In January, Airtable expanded its product vision with Superagent, an orchestration platform designed to help users build teams of AI agents for task execution. The company said it serves more than 500,000 organizations, including a large share of the Fortune 100.

Bending Spoons, which went public in July at an $18 billion valuation, has built a reputation for acquiring established digital brands and improving their efficiency and profitability. Its portfolio already includes names such as Evernote, WeTransfer, Eventbrite and Vimeo.

The acquisition highlights how AI-enabled workflow tools and cloud software continue to attract strategic investment, shaping the next phase of digital productivity.
