New York's contemporary art calendar is set for a major new moment as Art Week NYC prepares for its inaugural edition from November 11-14. The citywide initiative has now confirmed 76 galleries for its first program, bringing together a wide range of spaces across the art landscape.
The participating roster includes leading names such as Hauser & Wirth, Gagosian, David Zwirner, Pace Gallery, White Cube, Perrotin, Lisson, and Paula Cooper, alongside emerging and mid-sized galleries. The lineup spans key neighborhoods including Chelsea, Tribeca, the Lower East Side, and the Upper East Side, reflecting the breadth of New York's gallery ecosystem.
According to Artforum publisher Danielle McConnell, the project was designed with galleries at its center, highlighting their role in discovery, artistic growth, and the wider conversation around contemporary art. The initiative aims to connect audiences with art in gallery and museum settings across the city.
Beyond exhibitions, ARTnews will launch the Art Week NYC Hub, featuring live interviews, panel discussions, and artist talks. Artforum and the New Museum will also present public programming, while the ADAA Fair is scheduled to hold its 2026 edition during the same period.
With its mix of established institutions, fresh voices, and public-facing conversations, Art Week NYC is positioned to become a new cultural anchor for the city's art scene. Its future impact could help expand access, deepen engagement, and strengthen New York's role as a global art capital.
