Apple has launched its annual back-to-school promotion, giving eligible students, faculty, staff, and other qualified buyers a chance to receive an Apple Gift Card with select device purchases. The offer includes up to $150 for certain MacBook Pro models and $100 for MacBook Air, iPad Air, and iPad Pro devices.
The timing is notable for shoppers comparing current prices with last month's levels, as the promotion can help offset recent increases on several Apple products. In some cases, the education discount and the gift card benefit can be combined, creating a more appealing entry point for buyers planning a new laptop or tablet for study, work, or creative projects.
Eligible purchases must be made directly through Apple. The gift card can then be used across Apple's ecosystem, including products, accessories, apps, and services such as Apple Music and iCloud+ storage.
Who can qualify
Apple says the offer is available to current or newly accepted higher-education students, faculty and staff at higher-education institutions, parents buying for eligible students, and employees of K-12 institutions. Verification is handled through UNiDAYS, the platform Apple uses for education eligibility checks.
Not every device is included: the MacBook Neo, iPad mini, standard iPad, and desktop Macs are excluded from the promotion. The offer remains available through August 27, 2026.
For students and educators preparing for the new academic year, the promotion adds flexibility to Apple's lineup and may shape how future education-focused tech bundles are designed.
