Anthropic's Super Bowl Campaign Boosts Claude App into Top 10 Rankings

Anthropic's Super Bowl ads have propelled the AI chatbot Claude into the top 10 U.S. App Store rankings, showcasing a significant surge in user interest and downloads.

Anthropic's recent Super Bowl advertisements have proven to be a significant success, showcasing humorous scenarios where individuals seek advice from chatbots, only to receive unexpected recommendations. Following this campaign, the AI chatbot Claude has surged in popularity, climbing from the 41st position to the 7th in the U.S. App Store rankings, marking its highest placement to date.

New insights from a market intelligence firm reveal that Claude's downloads in the U.S. for both iOS and Android platforms reached approximately 148,000 from Sunday to Tuesday, reflecting a remarkable 32% increase compared to the previous three days, where downloads were about 112,000.

On average, Claude garnered around 49,200 downloads daily during this period, a notable rise from the usual average of 37,400 downloads.

The data indicates that the combination of Anthropic's engaging Super Bowl commercials and the recent launch of its Opus 4.6 model has effectively captured the attention of users, distinguishing Claude from competitors like ChatGPT, which has recently introduced ads for free users.

As a result, Claude is now receiving heightened visibility compared to its initial mobile launch.

Claude's global downloads also saw an uptick, with a 15% increase from Sunday to Tuesday compared to the preceding Thursday to Saturday, although this growth was less pronounced than in the U.S.
