Anthropic has upgraded Claude voice mode with a more flexible model system, allowing users to choose between Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku. The update is designed to make voice interactions more capable for both quick exchanges and deeper tasks.
Previously powered by Haiku, Claude's voice experience now automatically uses the last model selected in text chat, while defaulting to the fastest available version. This shift gives the assistant a more adaptive role across different conversation styles.
The new voice mode is built for longer, more practical sessions. Users can ask Claude to review communication style, help shape a client pitch, or support product research brainstorming. It also connects with apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Canva, and Notion, enabling actions like scheduling meetings, drafting emails, and creating documents.
Anthropic has also expanded multilingual support in beta. Users can speak in several languages, including English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, though the language still needs to be selected manually.
The beta is now available across platforms for all users. Free accounts remain limited to the Haiku model and a single connected app, while paid users can access broader functionality. With this update, voice AI is moving closer to becoming a practical productivity layer across everyday digital tools, shaping a more fluid future for human-computer interaction.
