Anthropic has entered a major computing agreement with British infrastructure company Nscale, securing roughly $45 billion in AI capacity over six years. The deal is designed to support the company's rapid expansion as demand for advanced AI services continues to rise.
The compute will be delivered through Nvidia's Vera Rubin chip system, a next-generation architecture that combines six chips working together for high-performance processing. According to the agreement, the capacity is expected to begin supporting Anthropic's services in late 2027.
Nscale, founded in 2024, has quickly emerged as a notable player in AI infrastructure, with partnerships that also include Microsoft. Its flagship data center in West Virginia will play a central role in supplying the new capacity for Anthropic.
This latest move adds to a broader wave of infrastructure expansion by Anthropic. In recent months, the company has also announced major compute arrangements with Volta, AMD, SpaceX, Amazon, Google, and Broadcom, reflecting the scale of investment now shaping the AI sector.
As AI models become more capable, access to large-scale compute is turning into a defining advantage for leading labs. The next phase of competition may be shaped as much by infrastructure as by software innovation, setting the stage for a more powerful AI landscape in the years ahead.
