Amazon has introduced an updated Fire TV Stick 4K designed to make home streaming more fluid, compact and intuitive. The new model features a slimmer body, can draw power directly from a compatible TV USB port, and is positioned as a faster alternative within the company's streaming lineup.
A Remote Built for Everyday Viewing
The most noticeable update is the redesigned voice remote. Its reshaped body and curved profile aim to offer a more comfortable grip, while tactile details make core controls easier to identify in dimly lit rooms.
The former prominent voice-control key has been replaced by a subtler microphone button with a distinct recessed surface. The Home key has a metallic finish for easier touch recognition, the power button is set lower to reduce accidental presses, and the flatter directional pad offers a more responsive central click.
Amazon has also added a customizable Favorites button. Users can assign it to a preferred app or a regularly used function, including accessibility settings such as closed captions or Dialog Boost.
4K Streaming Features
Powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor, the Fire TV Stick 4K includes 8GB of storage, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth Low Energy support. It handles HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, AV1, VP9 and other major video formats, with output up to 2160p at 60 frames per second.
The device joins Amazon's broader Fire TV family, alongside HD, 4K Max and Fire TV Cube options. It is priced at $59.99, with an introductory price of $29.99 in selected markets. The redesigned remote will also be available separately in the United States for $14.99, with shipping expected in late October.
This update signals how small usability improvements and personalized controls may continue to shape the future of connected home entertainment.
