Amazon is expanding its October reading selection for Prime members through Amazon First Reads, offering the chance to select two Kindle e-books at no extra cost.
First Reads gives Prime subscribers early access to a rotating collection of new digital titles across genres. October's selection includes 10 books spanning historical fiction, romance, fantasy, suspense, book-club fiction and short-form thrillers. The monthly offer includes the short read Warm Bodies by John Marrs.
How the October selection works
Eligible readers can browse the October First Reads catalogue through a web browser while signed in to their Amazon account. After choosing a title marked under the First Reads offer, the e-book is delivered to the account's Kindle library and can be read on compatible Kindle devices or the Kindle app.
This month's featured choices include The Woman I've Become by Debra Webb, The Lost Kingdom of Daughters by Weina Dai Randel, The Love Operation by Melissa R. Collings, Ghost Orchid by Dani Cessna and The Queen's Witch by Nancy Kress, alongside several other new releases.
A wider doorway into digital reading
The program highlights how subscription-based platforms are increasingly helping readers discover emerging releases and explore genres beyond their usual preferences. With monthly editorial selections and flexible access across devices, First Reads adds a curated layer to the digital bookshelf.
As digital libraries continue to evolve, initiatives like this could make discovering new authors and diverse storytelling formats a more seamless part of everyday life.
