AI Startups Accelerate Revenue Growth as Adoption Deepens

Artificial intelligence startups are reaching major revenue milestones at a remarkable pace, reflecting how quickly demand for AI tools is expanding across industries. Several companies now say their growth is not only strong, but also accelerating from one quarter to the next.

Mercor recently said it passed $2 billion in gross annualized revenue in June, only four months after reaching $1 billion. The company, which connects domain experts with AI model training, also reported a $500 million run rate in September, underscoring its rapid scale-up.

Anthropic has also posted striking momentum. The model developer said its revenue run rate climbed to $47 billion in late May, after previously moving above $30 billion in a much shorter span. Earlier figures showed a jump from $4 billion in mid-2025 to $9 billion later that year, highlighting a steep growth curve.

Sierra, which builds customer service AI agents for enterprises, said it reached its first $100 million in ARR in seven quarters and added another $100 million in just two more. Glean reported crossing $300 million in ARR after moving from $100 million to $200 million in nine months, then from $200 million to $300 million in six months.

The trend is not limited to AI-native firms. Gusto said its revenue accelerated over five straight quarters and surpassed $1 billion in trailing 12-month revenue. Clio also saw strong gains after integrating AI into its legal software, reaching $500 million in ARR after doubling from $200 million in less than a year.

These results suggest that AI is becoming a core growth engine for both new startups and established software companies, with faster product adoption translating into faster business expansion. The next phase may redefine how quickly digital companies can scale in the AI era.
